On Tuesday, 8th July, the Rotary Club of Kenton on Sea held a splendid evening to induct our new president, Mr. Bruce Steele-Gray, who will serve Rotary KOS for the upcoming year. The outgoing president, Mr. Norman Smith, was honoured by Rotarians for his dedicated service.
The event took place at Kenton Asian in Kenton on Sea. A big shout out to Brenda, Paul and the team from Kenton Asian who was hands on at all times. The venue was filled to capacity with Rotary members, honorary Rotarians, and guests from neighbouring towns Port Alfred and Grahamstown. It was an honour to have DG Jacques and his wife Lynda Venter attend this momentous occasion. Thank you to Sandy Smith and Alan Malan and their team who decorated the tables so beautifully and provided a wonderful evening filled with delicious food and fun, making it a memorable occasion for everyone present.
Sandy Smith was awarded the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow Award, presented by Mike Peter, which is given to a Rotarian or member of the community who has made an outstanding contribution to the community.
AG Eugene De Witt honoured the late Pippa Steele-Gray by presenting her Paul Harris Fellow recognition to Bruce Steele-Gray in acknowledgement of her outstanding contribution to the Rotary Club of Kenton On Sea.
Bev Rogers received the President’s Significant Achievement Award for her exceptional services to Rotary Kenton. This award was presented by President Norman Smith
The Wandelstok was presented to David Howard for being the most travelled Rotarian. This award was presented by President Norman Smith.
The BSA (Big Stirrer Award) wooden spoon was presented to Steve Tredoux. This award was presented by President Norman Smith.
The knowledge and leadership of incoming President Bruce Steele-Gray for the 2025-2026 Rotary year are grounded in many years of distinguished service.
President Bruce Steele-Gray served as the founding President of the Rotary Club of Kenton On Sea from Sept 2008 to July 2010. He went on to serve as Assistant Governor from 2013 to 2016, District Governor from 2016 – 2017, and as a Delegate to the Council on Legislation from 2018 to 2021.
