A Vision for Growth and Community Impact

As President of the Rotary Club of Kenton On Sea for the 2024-2025 term, my vision has been to develop and strengthen each sector driven by our dedicated Board and Rotary Members. Our focus has been on impactful projects that uplift the community, foster youth development, and protect the environment.

Membership Growth

During this year, we have successfully increased our membership from 41 to 47 members, with two more members due to join shortly. We also have 9 Honorary members. This growth reflects the dedication and enthusiasm within our club as we continue to expand our reach and impact.

Youth Services: Investing in the Future

One of our key priorities has been the development of youth within our community. Through monthly gatherings and educational sessions, we have provided young individuals with opportunities to engage, learn, and actively participate in society. These initiatives have fostered positive encouragement, equipping the youth with the skills and knowledge needed to make meaningful contributions. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, as we continue to support and mentor the leaders of tomorrow.

The Youth Group also organized the World of Work workshop, which raised awareness among Grade 11 students about the workplace, job shadowing, and various career opportunities available to them. Additionally, we have made strides in Peacebuilding, Vocation, and Conflict Management, with some of our Rotarians undergoing specialized training in these areas.

Environmental Stewardship: Protecting Our Natural Heritage

Recognizing the importance of environmental conservation, the Rotary Club of Kenton On Sea has taken active steps in clean-up efforts and sustainable development. Our Environment team has not only engaged in vital restoration projects but has also found ways to generate funds that are reinvested into necessary community resources.

One of our significant achievements has been securing funding for a surveillance camera to monitor areas affected by poachers. This technological advancement has greatly enhanced our ability to protect local wildlife. Additionally, we are proud to facilitate the Snare Eradication Project on a monthly basis, ensuring the safety and preservation of our precious wildlife.
