The Rotary Club of Kenton on Sea held its annual President’s Induction function last evening at the Continental Deli venue in Kenton. An evening of careful covid observations gave us an opportunity to congratulate outgoing President, Dave Howard, on an excellent year in very difficult circumstances, and to celebrate the induction of Eugene de Witt as our president for the forthcoming year.
It was also an evening for presentations to members of our community and our club for their extraordinary contribution of service during the past year. Dr Eleanor Galpin and Past President Ginny Reed were recognised with the highly prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship; Bev Rogers received the President’s Award for her huge effort collating and promoting sales of our Kenton Cuisine cookbook; Mike Peter, Mike Wilmot, Tony Swift and Barrie Brown received Certificates of Recognition for their dedication to the ideal of Service in Rotary and last but certainly not least, we welcomed three new members to our club- Anne and Mike Willemse, and Caroline Steele-Gray who has returned to our ranks after a break.
We were delighted to have our District Governor Elect, Maddy Webber sharing the evening with us and we wish her a very successful year ahead.
It was a wonderful evening and thanks go to everyone who played a part in making it so.
